Live Fresh by DBS

Noticed this new credit card called "Live Fresh DBS Visa payWave Platinum Card" that DBS is promoting lately on MRT trains.

Nowadays, it seems that banks need to be creative and instill some form of life and character in a credit card. Here it goes:

Living Fresh is all about living out every side of you, having different takes on life and not forgetting your point of view. That’s where your new Live Fresh DBS Visa payWave Platinum Card comes in. It gives you multiple choices in your social life and is the first card in Singapore to offer ez-link, Visa payWave and EMV security features.

This card is the only credit card other than Citibank SMRT Visa Card that offer ez-link features. It will auto top up when your card value falls into negative territory.

In addition, this card also offers some other perks for clubbing, watching movies at GV etc. Click on the Live Fresh by DBS advert on the right panel of my blog for more details ^_^

I really take my hats off to these contests fanatics who spend much time and efforts creating blogs or websites on their unique hobby - joining contests. Of course, they also earn advert money for their online effort.

I must say there are really so many contests around which we are too busy to notice or bother. It's interesting browsing through some of these contests. Maybe you will fancy your chances in some ^_^

溏心风暴之家好月圆

I quite enjoy watching hong kong serial 溏心风暴之家好月圆. Just like to share this link http://tv.sohu.com/20090117/n261807838.shtml with fellow hong kong serial fans. The image is quite sharp and more importantly it does not lag on my starhub broadband. Watch all 40 episodes now.

Do check back for further updates on best bargains. ^_^

Seeking the best savings on telco services

When it comes to seeking out the best savings for telco services, the first step is of course to check if there is any corporate plan which you can tag onto. If yes, seek out the corporate plan that gives you the most amount of savings. Sometimes, the savings can be so substantial that it is worth paying the up-front administrative fees ($10 to $20) to change ownership of the mobile line to the person in the household who has the best corporate plan. Furthermore, with number portability these days, changing telco is no longer a problem as we get to retain our existing number at no extra costs. Hence, do compare the corporate plans available for the different telcos and pick the best one.

Some of you may not be aware that there are actually people around who are willing to pay you a few hundreds (exact amount depends on your mobile plan) to recontract your mobile phone service - just browse through the newspaper classified and you will see a number of advert on this. What they want from you is the new mobile phone which you get from recontracting. From what I understand, it is cheaper for these people to acquire the new phone in this way as compared to buying the new phones directly from the authorized suppliers or maybe some of them do not have the rights to purchase phones directly from suppliers.

Recently, I just became a Starhub Hub Club member as I subscribed to their mobile phone, cable tv and broadband services (3 services) and I am quite pleased that with the enrolment as a Hub Club member, I can do a phone upgrade every 12 months instead of the usual 21 months. As I am a happy i-phone user, I reckon I will be getting myself paid twice for recontracting in the next 2 years. Now, that's a way of making easy money.

Toiletries - where to get the bargain buys?

This is definitely nothing new, but for the benefit of those who happens not to know, you can check out Swanston toiletries store located at the 2nd floor of People's Park Complex food centre in Chinatown. They sell a wide variety of toiletries products at discounted prices which are hard to beat. Just to quote an example, I recently saw an Ascience 550ml shampoo or conditioner selling at $12.90 at a NTUC Fairprice supermarket (can imagine that they are sold at an even higher price at say Cold Storage) but at Swanston, they were running a special offer of 2 Ascience 550ml shampoo or conditioner for just $19.50 (that works out to be $9.75 for 1). Well... now that's almost a staggering 25% difference. Seek out the great bargains here (some are really great), stretch your dollar in the process hehe.
